Helgeson 50th ANNIVERSARY
June 26th, 2005
Al and Carol Helgeson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at Jonathan’s Cork on June 26 and by renewing their vows at Evangelical Lutheran Church of the King where they have been members for 45 years. They were married on June 26 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church and have lived in Tucson for 60 years.
Mr. Helgeson served in the Army during the Korean War for two years. In 1990, after 36 years with Southern Pacific Railroad, he retired. Mr. Helgeson is now employed by Manheim Auto Auction.
Mrs. Helgeson (Tucson High, class of ’55) is a housewife who volunteers in the church office. She is President of the women’s group and belongs to the Quilters.
For the last 20 years, Mr. and Mrs. Helgeson have traveled all over the U.S. on their motorcycles as members of a Christian Motorcycle Club called the Retreads.
They have four children, all of Tucson, Gary (Lynn), Sheryl (Steve), Alan and Glenn; and one granddaughter, Amber.
