Amber Nicole Page, 23, graduated May 3, 2008, from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Science and a Minor in Aviation Safety.
As a girl, Amber always looked to the skies, dreaming of becoming a pilot. That dream has come true.
Amber has many talents; among them her athletic talents in gymnastics, swimming and volleyball have all helped her focus on her dream. After graduating from Canyon del Oro High School in 2003, she received a volleyball scholarship to Phoenix Community College. Her childhood dream started to become a reality when Katrina Meyer, Volleyball Coach with Embry-Riddle, came to a scouting practice to meet Amber and soon awarded her a three-year scholarship: two years as a player and one year as assistant coach.
Turning her dream into reality was not easy; Amber had no time off for three years as she studied all academic summer, fall and spring semesters to acquire a new four-year degree. Her tenacity has paid off and in addition to her degree, Amber has acquired her FAA Pilot's License which includes single engine, multi engine, instrument and commercial ratings. This summer she will continue studying for her Instructor's License and hopes one day to become a private corporate or charter pilot.
