Albert Raul Pesqueira
40th ANNIVERSARY in the Fire Service
October 27th, 2009
Albert Raul Pesqueira recently celebrated his 40th Anniversary in the Fire Service on October 27, 2009. Albert and his brother, Jesus Pesqueira, joined the Tucson Fire Department in 1969 and collectively, they have 77 years of service to the Tucson community. Jesus "Chuy" recently retired from the Tucson Fire Department.
Albert retired in 1997 as an Assistant Chief from Tucson Fire Department and has been employed by Northwest Fire District as an Assistant Chief for the past 12 ½ years. Albert has an Associate of Applied Science degree from Pima Community College and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Fire Service Management from Arizona State University (Summa Cum Laude). He recently obtained the "Chief Fire Officer" (CFO) designation from the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
Chief Pesqueira is a member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC), Arizona Fire Chiefs Association, National Fire Protection Association, and the Hispanic Professional Action Committee (HPAC).
He volunteers in the community with the Regional Transportation Authority's (RTA), Citizens Accountability for Regional Transportation (CART) Committee, the Senior Advisory Council and the Latino Community Justice Council with the Arizona Attorney General's (Terry Goddard) Office and with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality's Water Quality Assurance Revolving Fund (WQARF) Community Advisory Board. Chief Pesqueira is the past President of the Board of Directors of CODAC (Community Organization for Drug Abuse Control) and the past Chair of the City of Tucson's Citizen's Police Advisory Review Board (CPARB).
