The 42nd annual Fiesta en Xochimilco Ball
will take place Saturday, September 5 at the Tucson Convention Center Grand Ballroom, Granada Entrance.
A non-profit organization that promotes tradition and culture of Tucson's young Hispanic women will present to Tucson 17 young women, the Florecitas of 2009. The ball is the League's largest event, which raises money for educational scholarships. The girls and their families will participate in a Mass at St. Augustine's Cathedral on Sunday, August 30th at 2:00 p.m. with Most Rev. Bishop Gerald Kicanas officiating. At the September 5th ball there will be a no-host cocktail hour from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Mariachi Tesoro. The presentation of the 17 Florecitas will be at 8:00 p.m. The band iMas will play from 9:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
For ticket information please call Barbara Carino 624-6703. Tickets are $30.00 for adults and $20.00 for students with ID. Clara Sandoval is the League President, Rosalie Espinosa is the Florecita Chair and Gloria Rodriguez is the Dance Chair, and Enna Cassler is Co- Chair.
