Event Description:
A survey of more than 100 photographs by famed
landscape photographer Ansel Adams (1902-1984),
this exhibition is a tribute to one of the 20th centurys
most admired artists. Many of Adams most famous
images are included and presented in the more
intimate scale he intended them to be viewed. The
works were originally printed by the artist himself in
his California darkroom and given to The Friends of
Photography to represent his legacy.

The Rural Art Showcase at the Joel D. Valdez Main
Library begins Friday, October 30 through Monday,
November 30. This year's participating artists

Albert Calalano, Yeul A.L. George, Susie Gilliatt,
Candace Greenburg, Pilar Hanson, Mary Ann Johns,
Ciri
Johnson, Tom Kiefer, Daniel McQuestion, Nancy
Rhodes, Reissa M. Salamat, Marti White and Louis

Valenzuela.
The annual, non-juried, curated art exhibition, is
an
opportunity for emerging and established
professional
artists living outside of the Tucson city limits to get
some exposure for their artwork in a municipal
gallery
setting.
It is supported in part by the Pima County
Department
of Economic Development and Tourism. The exhibit
is
produced by the Tucson Pima Arts Council in
partnership with the Joel D. Valdez Main Pima
County
Library.

"Ashes to Ashes: Demise and Transformation,"
featuring paintings by Eilis Crean and Tucson artist,
Aaron Miller.The show opens with an artist talk on
Saturday, November 7th at 5 pm immediately

will run through Saturday, November 28th.
An exhibition of contemporary paintings that
address
the metaphysics of impermanence with respect to
material culture. Eilis Creans haunting depictions
of
lighted candles are ritualistically repeated splaying
their light against somber and mysteriously void
backgrounds. Aaron Miller combines painting and
printmaking to juxtapose images of elegance and
wealth against vacant industrial infrastructures.
