+ Alex Stuetze Memorial Pediatric Nursing Award
The Alex Stuetze Memorial Pediatric Nursing Award was established in 2007 to honor the life of an inspiring little girl who lost her battle to Leukemia in October of 2006. The purpose of this award is to recognize nurses in the field of pediatrics who have unselfishly invested their time, talents and hearts. Nominations should be submitted by January 15, 2010. + Eligibiltiy Criteria+ Must be a practicing pediatric nurse in Southern Arizona (school, home health, family practice, etc. are all eligible). + Must demonstrate genuine care and concern for the overall well being of their patients, seeing children as individuals who not only have physical but emotional needs. + Must recognize that care and inclusion of a child's family is not just beneficial but necessary. + Serve as educators to patients and families, ensuring everyone has a complete understanding of their care, thereby enabling them to take an active role in decision making. + They have gone above and beyond their daily job duties and invested their hearts in the care of children.
