Lake Powell marinas

The marinas at Lake Powell have exotic names like Wahweap (the largest), Hite and Dangling Rope. For boaters, here's a guide to get you started.

Wahweap

The largest marina and lodging facility at the lake is about five miles west of the Carl Hayden Visitor Center along Lakeshore Drive. Lodging, dining, boat rentals, boat slips, repairs, dump/pump-out stations, fueling, campgrounds, swimming beaches, gift shop, laundry and a service station. 1-(928)-645-2433.

Antelope Point

Located 6 miles up river, the newest marina facility on Lake Powell opened Phase I in June 2004. Current amenities include 80 wet slips, 30-acres of dry storage, houseboat and small boat rentals, a private launch ramp, covered fuel dock and pump-out facilities. An upscale floating restaurant/bar, a marina store, a 225 room resort, a Navajo cultural center, 300 wet slips and an RV/camping site are planned for the future. Dangling Rope

42 miles upriver. Accessible only by water. Ranger station, restrooms, emergency medical services, fuel, minor boat repairs, dump/pump-out station, supply store, snack foods, gift shop. No lodging or phone.

Halls Crossing

94 miles upriver. Across Bullfrog Bay from Bullfrog Marina, Halls Crossing is accessible by water or Utah 276. Ranger station, launch ramp, dump/pump-out station, lodging, campgrounds, laundry, store, service station. A ferry runs regularly from Bullfrog to Halls Crossing. 1-(435)-684-7000.

Bullfrog

95 miles upriver. Lodging, dining, visitor center, bookstore, gift shop, picnic areas, boat rentals, dump/pump-out station, campgrounds, laundry, service station. Accessible by water or by Utah 276. During the summer months, the National Park Service operates a medical clinic and provides interpretive programs. 1-(435)-684-3000.

Hite

140 miles upriver. Low water levels have left the marina landlocked. Although marina facilities are closed, there's still lodging, a store, service station, ranger station and primitive camping available. The historic area is accessible by Utah 95. 1-(435)-684-2278.
