Awards Expo and Luncheon

To showcase Tucson’s workplaces of excellence even further, the Society of Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson and Tucson Newspapers have enhanced and expanded this coming year’s event to include the Workplace Best Practices Expo with the two-day event culminating with honoring the 2008 winners at the Awards Luncheon.
The 2008 Workplace Excellence Expo and Awards Luncheon of Greater Tucson celebrate and honor the contributions of Tucson's most progressive employers.
Nominated companies are asked to describe how their workplace practices fit into several areas with an application to assist the panel of judges in determining the best places to work in Tucson.
Through two culling processes, a panel of judges from other Arizona based SHRM Chapters will first choose the finalists, and then select seven winning companies from these finalists. Three Best Practices Awards and three Grand Prize Awards will be selected. The three Best Practices Awards will be based on the three questions on the application. One overall winner will be selected from each question.
The three Grand Prize Awards will be given out based on company size (small, medium and large) to the three companies that best exemplify human resource practices.
The seventh award, the Bocker-Meza Innovation Award, recognizes an outstanding small company with no official Human Resources department. This award debuted in 2005.
