The seventh annual Workplace Excellence Awards of Greater Tucson 2009 began with the idea that the many companies in Tucson with progressive workplace practices needed encouragement and recognition.
Tucson Newspapers, in partnership with the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Tucson (SHRM-GT), commenced an annual Awards program that would recognize the progressive employers in Tucson, regardless of the size of the organization.
The Awards event is dedicated to recognizing organizations that have been nominated by their employees or members of the community-at-large for exceptional human resource practices that have directly contributed to organizational success. The event provides all human resource professionals the opportunity to learn what makes the winning organizations an employer of choice in the community.
